The department of Mechanical Engineering (MECHANICAL) was established in the academic year 2009-2010, with an intake of 60 seats in the Bachelors degree (BTech-MECH).

The Department is offering M.Tech programmes with one specialization i.e. MTech (CAD/CAM) from 2012.

To create employable and entrepreneurial engineers with academic excellence, positive attitude, communication & interpersonal skills, good character, self confidence and leadership qualities and who are useful to the Family, Society and Nation. Also it is aimed for continuous development of faculty personality.

1. To educate students in undergraduate and post graduate level in basic principles in the field of mechanical engineering.
2. To train students of different levels to think independently for a self learning habit.

Program Educational Objectives

To prepare the students for entry into successful employment as engineers in industry for design, research, operation & maintenance of systems, marketing, purchase activities, service industries, consulting, for higher technical education at leading engineering institutions, or entrepreneurship.
To encourage teamwork among the students to design and implement complex automation systems in mechanical, electrical and/or electronic systems with ability to work with people from diversified fields and develop the leadership skills for maximizing the performance of those team members.
To offer a curriculum that encourages the students to become well educated and competent engineers and to equip them with positive attitudes and skills to foster life-long learning having ability to communicate effectively with different audience and performing duties as responsible members of the global society.
